Hull City 1 - 1 Leyton Orient
FA Cup with Budweiser Round Three

ORIENT were only denied an FA Cup with Budweiser shock by an injury time goal from high-flying Championship outfit Hull City on Saturday.

David Mooney'a 78th minute header looked set to give the O's a richly deserved win against their much-changed and under par hosts.

But there was one final twist in the tale as Nick Proschwitz found space inside the box to head home in the 94th minute and set up a Brisbane Road replay.

O's boss Russell Slade wanted a reaction from his side following the New Year's Day disappointment at Yeovil and that was what he got after the Londoners snuffed out a bright start from Hull to dominate for large periods.

With 24 minutes on the clock, Orient brought the first save from either keeper as Leon McSweeney's long range dipper needed to be helped over the top by Eldin Jakupovic.

Orient were beginning to grab a real foothold in the contest and Dean Cox whipped in a 39th minute corner which Lee Cook flicked on at the near post, with the ball whistling not far over Mooney's leap.

Hull were wasteful in their passing and Cook seized upon a wayward header from Andy Dawson right on half time, but keeper Jakupovic closed the angles down well to save.

The second half continued along similar lines with Hull struggling to make their divisional superiority count.

It wasn't until the 70th minute that they began to exert any sort of pressure, with Jamie Jones making his first save of the afternoon when he easily plucked a Paul McShane header out of the air.

Proschwitz then shot wildly over from range after a Mathieu Baudry slip allowed Hull to break on the O's, but the Londoners soon got back onto the front foot and should have had a penalty when Mooney was hauled down in the box by Alex Bruce after nicking possession off the defender.

Referee Iain Williamson kept his whistle away from his lips, but Orient were undeterred and they got the goal they merited 12 minutes from time.

Mooney has scored in every round of the FA Cup this term and he took his personal goal tally to five with a fine glancing header from Cox's pinpoint cross, giving Jakupovic no chance in the home goal.

That seemed to be that, but Hull had one chance left in them and made the most of it when Tom Cairney was given too much time to send over a cross from the left and Proschwitz was there in the middle to nod the ball beyond Jones.
