Injury update on O's captain Weir
The club have been dealt a massive blow with the news captain Robbie Weir has been ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury.
The midfielder came on as a 73rd minute substitute in Monday’s 4-0 loss at Exeter City but was stretchered off 14 minutes later and scans this week have since revealed the 28-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee.
On the news, O’s boss Andy Edwards told leytonorient.com: “It is a massive blow to see Robbie’s season come to an end in such fashion.
“He is great captain to this club and he will be a big loss for us. We still also have Liam Kelly on the sidelines and it leaves us short of options in the centre of midfield.
"He will get the club's 100 per cent support in his recovery and I know that he will come back stronger."
Weir joined the O’s in the summer, signing a two-year deal following his release at Burton Albion and made 21 appearances until suffering the injury.
