MICHAEL SYMES scored as the O's reserves beat the Queens Park Rangers Elite Development Squad in a training ground friendly at Harlington on Tuesday.
Symes scored the only goal of the game inside the first 10 minutes as several senior players got invaluable match minutes under their belts.
One of the main beneficiaries was Jamie Jones, who got his first match action since suffering a shoulder injury in August.
The O's keeper played the 90 minutes and made some good saves to thwart a Rangers side including the likes of Shaun Derry, Clint Hill and Hogan Ephraim.
Lloyd James and Mathieu Baudry also played, while youngster Billy Lobjoit returned from injury to play the 90 minutes in a useful workout for the east Londoners.
