Russell Slade

Russell Slade - Manager
Place and Date of Birth: Wokingham, October 10 1960

RUSSELL SLADE was appointed as manager of the O's on April 5 2010, two days after previous boss Geraint Williams parted company with the club.

Slade, 49, arrived at Brisbane Road with Orient just one place above the League One drop zone after an alarming slump in form.

He successfully led Brighton to safety after the Seagulls found themselves in similar danger the season before, and he repeated the trick in E10, by winning three of the final five games in 2009/10.

Slade has previously managed Scarborough, Grimsby Town, Yeovil Town and Brighton, and took Yeovil to the League One play-off final in 2007.

Ironically, he was pipped to promotion to League 1 by the O's during his time as Grimsby boss, but now, having retained the club's third tier status, will be looking to push upwards.

Kevin Nugent

Kevin Nugent - Assistant Manager
Place and Date of Birth: Edmonton, April 10 1969

KEVIN returned to his roots in the summer of 2007 to take up the role of Youth Team Manager.

The Edmonton-born 40-year-old began his playing career at Brisbane Road and he made in excess of 150 appearances for the O's across two spells.

Nugent also played for Plymouth Argyle, Bristol City, Cardiff City and Swansea City, and it was with the Swans that he moved into coaching.

Kevin was assistant manager to Kenny Jackett and the pair masterminded Swansea's promotion from League Two in 2005.

Kevin, who scored 115 league goals in a career spanning 19 years, has now completed the Uefa Pro Licence qualification and he ser about the task of continueing the fine tradition of youngsters coming through the ranks at Brisbane Road.

In February 2009, following the departure of Martin Ling and Dean Smith, Nugent was named as assistant manager.

Kevin Dearden

Place and Date of Birth: Luton, March 8 1970

FORMER Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Kevin Dearden joined the O's as full-time goalkeeping coach and chief scout in the summer of 2008.

He first joined the club's coaching staff on a part-time basis in November 2007 and manager Martin Ling was delighted to make him a permanent member of the backroom staff.

Dearden began his playing career at White Hart Lane, where he made two senior appearances in a five year spell between 1988 and 1993.

He gained experience in several loan moves away from Spurs and eventually signed permanently for Brentford.

Dearden played over 250 games for the Bees and also appeared for Wrexham and Torquay in a career that spanned 17 years.

He then moved in to coaching and took up roles at Millwall, Luton and Stevenage before joining the O's.

Andy Edwards

Andy Edwards - Youth Team Manager
Place and Date of Birth: Epping, September 17 1971

ANDY EDWARDS took over from Wayne Burnett as Orient's youth team manager in the summer of 2009.

The former Southend, Birmingham and Peterborough defender joined the O's coaching set-up after previously serving as assistant manager at St Albans City and working with the Arsenal academy.

A commanding centre back as a player, Epping-born Andy began his career at Roots Hall with Southend and he made 147 League appearances in his first spell with the Shrimpers.

He left for Birmingham City in 1995, before enjoying a seven-year spell with Peterborough between 1996 and 2003.

Following a brief stint at Rushden & Diamonds, he returned to Southend in 2004 before ending his playing career with Aldershot Town in the 2006/07 season.

He then moved in to coaching and will be looking to continue the fine tradition of bringing young players through to the first team at Brisbane Road.
