ORIENT were denied a morale-boosting victory over local rivals Southend United by James Walker's goal in the sixth minute of second half stoppage time at Brisbane Road on Tuesday.

The home side looked set to start life after Martin Ling in the perfect fashion when they took the lead through Adam Boyd and held that advantage so close to the end.

But substitute Walker - a former O's loanee - broke their hearts right at the death with a hammer blow from 15 yards.
