Leyton Orient 1 - 3 Leicester City
Coca-Cola League One

ORIENT suffered late heartbreak at the hands of Leicester City on Saturday when two goals in the final three minutes condemned them to defeat.

Martin Ling's men recovered from the blow of Lloyd Dyer's 11th minute opener to level through Adam Chambers and take charge of the game after the break.

But Leicester kept plugging away and their persistence was rewarded, cruelly, at the end.

Matty Fryatt tested Glenn Morris with a low shot in the second minute after Paul Terry and Adam Chambers left a ball to each other in midfield, allowing Max-Alain Gradel to cross from the right.

A minute later, Terry nodded JJ Melligan's corner over the top and the frenetic start continued as Leicester moved play to the other end, with Glenn Morris touching Fryatt's effort onto the crossbar.

But the O's didn't hold out for long with a through ball from Steve Howard carving open the O's defence for Dyer to calmly finish under an advancing Morris.

Leicester continued to apply the pressure and Gradel's 19th minute cross provided another chance for Fryatt, who hooked over the bar.

The O's were struggling to get into the contest and Dyer's curling shot in the 35th minute forced a sharp stop from Morris.

But as the interval neared the O's started to apply some pressure and Foxes stopper David Martin was forced to pull a save right out of the top drawer to prevent Adam Chambers header from bringing the O's level.

And two minutes from the end of the first half, Orient's good spell was rewarded when JJ Melligan knocked Jason Demetriou's corner back to Chambers to thump home from close range.

The O's began the second period well too, and Chambers burst into the box on 54 minutes before cutting back to Adam Boyd, who slid the ball wide on the stretch.

Leicester almost re-took the lead immediately though, as Chambers could only nod Martin's kick back towards his own goal, allowing Fryatt to get in behind and loft the ball over Morris.  Brisbane Road breathed a sigh of relief as the crossbar came to Orient's rescue.

Orient soon moved back onto the front foot and Aiden Palmer shot just wide before Kerrea Gilbert slid in to touch Ryan Jarvis' threatening low cross away from Demetriou.

The game had a terrific ebb-and-flow to it and Morris had to save from Fryatt after he outmuscled Alton Thelwell 15 minutes from time.

Ryan Jarvis so nearly got in at the other end when Brian Saah's fine pass picked him out, but his touch was heavy and Martin mopped up the danger.

There was a cruel twist to the tale late on though as Leicester stole victory when Fryatt bundled home from close range after DJ Campbell's shot was blocked on the line by Aiden Palmer.

Leicester rubbed salt in to Orient's wounds in the final minute when Andy King wrapped up victory by finishing a flowing move.
