Leyton Orient 1 - 1 Huddersfield Town
Coca-Cola League One

DEAN MORGAN'S second half goal rescued a point for Orient in their final game of the 2008/09 season.

Huddersfield took the lead before the break through Andy Booth, who was playing his final game in professional football.

But Orient hit back after the interval and made sure they didn't end the campaign on a losing note.

Huddersfield started well and were almost gifted a fourth minute lead when Jordan Spence and goalkeeper Jamie Jones both went for a loose ball, with Spence heading the ball past his advancing stopper and - thankfully - past the post too.

But Orient's defending was sloppy in its nature early on and they were punished on 24 when Booth latched onto Jimmy Smith's poor header back, beat Jones to the ball and was left with a simple tap in,

At the other end, Jason Demetriou slammed a volley wide of the mark after Morgan crossed from the left, but Huddersfield were dominant and deserved their lead.

Indeed, they could have gone further in front before the break, but Tamika Mkandawire deflected Anthony Pilkington's goalbound shot over the bar on 36.

Orient needed to wake up after the break, and they did show signs of doing so when Sean Thornton curled a shot wide with 49 minutes on the clock.

13 minutes later Wayne Gray hooked an effort wide after Charlie Daniels' free kick was blocked and Orient were upping the ante.

They were rewarded with the equaliser on 65 when Smith's run into the left channel was picked out by Daniels, and the on loan Chelsea man unselfishly squared for Morgan to finish from six yards.

Daniels then fired wide from long range, while Scott McGleish had a shot saved by Simon Eastwood late on, but a draw was the right result from a well-contested game.
