Back To Work!

Posted on: Wed 04 Jul 2007

THE O'S reported back for pre-season training on Wednesday morning and manager Martin Ling wasted little time in putting his squad through their paces.

Following a run in Hainault Forest, the squad - including new signings JJ Melligan, Stephen Purches, Tamika Mkandawire, Paul Terry and Stuart Nelson - returned to their Newbury Park training ground for another session and Ling was delighted to be back out on the pitch.

He said: "After weeks of chasing players and spending hours on the telephone, it was nice to get back out on the training pitch today.

"It's pleasing for everyone and it was good to get down to work with the new boys too.

"The squad is still far from finished, and new faces will continue to arrive over the next couple of weeks, but I'm looking forward to getting the players fit and focused for the start of the season on August 11.
