Fortune Facing Lengthy Spell Out

Posted on: Fri 28 Sep 2007

CLAYTON FORTUNE is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder for a second time this season during Tuesday's reserve victory over Brentford.

The 24-year-old defender was playing in his first comeback game after suffering the initial injury, but he fell heavily on his shoulder and had to be withdrawn.

A scan showed that the injury had resurfaced and Fortune will now see a specialist before deciding on his next course of action.

However, he is likely to be out of action for an extended period of time.

Manager Martin Ling said: "It is frustrating both for us and for Clayton because he was on the verge of a comeback.

"He will see a specialist next week and we will know how long he will be out for then - but it's important that this injury gets sorted once and for all."
