ORIENT go in to Saturday's game at Bristol Rovers looking to bounce back from their first real disappointment of the season.
Martin Ling's men lost their unbeaten league record to newly-promoted Hartlepool at Brisbane Road last weekend, and they will be hoping to put that right against another of the League One new boys tomorrow.
Paul Trollope's team were promoted via the play-offs last term following a storming end to the season, and they have picked up from where they left off at the beginning of the current campaign.
Following last week's 1-1 draw at Carlisle, they are ninth in the table and are sure to provide the O's with a stern test of their credentials.
Bristol Rovers v Leyton Orient - The Lowdown
The Last Time: Bristol Rovers 3 - 3 Leyton Orient - January 31 2005, Coca-Cola League Two
Orient arrived at the Memorial Stadium on the back of a heartbreaking last minute FA Cup to Charlton Athletic three days previously, and they bounced back well to keep their promotion push on track.
Rovers enjoyed the better of the first half and took the lead through Junior Agogo. The Ghanaian striker missed a golden opportunity to make it two on the stroke of half-time, but Glyn Garner saved his penalty.
Martin Ling introduced Jabo Ibehre at the break, and the O's frontman had an instant impact, scoring twice in 12 minutes to turn the game on its head.
Craig Disley headed home an instant equalizer, but Michael Simpson made it 3-2 to the O's midway through the second period when he glanced Shane Tudor's cross home.
However, Rovers' Richard Walker had the final say when he powered a 74th minute spot-kick down the middle of the goal to ensure the spoils would be shared.
Form Guide: Orient are still two points clear at the top of the table, despite last week's defeat to Hartlepool. The east Londoners possess a 100% record on their travels and have only conceded one goal away from home - at Southend on the first day of the season.
Bristol Rovers took a point home from the long trip to Carlisle last week. Steve Elliott gave the visitors a first half lead, but Danny Graham levelled things up. The Pirates are still awaiting their first home win of the season, but a fine away record has carried them to ninth in the table with 10 points from seven games.
Team News: Martin Ling faces some selection headaches for the first time this season. Stephen Purches returned for the reserves in midweek following a hamstring injury and will be pushing for a recall, while Jabo Ibehre bagged a brace in the same game and could be involved for the first time this season.
Brian Saah, Raphael Sylvester (both hamstring) and Clayton Fortune (shoulder) are all out injured.
Bristol Rovers team news to follow.
The Opposition View: Rovers striker Richard Walker: "They signed a few players over the summer and Boyd has already scored quite a few goals for them.
"I have been a bit suprised by the way they have started the season.
"They finished one place outside the relegation zone last time but they are obviously a good side. They have a good manager there who has got them playing very well, but hopefully we can burst their bubble."
