Daniels - We Can't Wait For Tuesday
O'S LEFT-BACK Charlie Daniels is itching to put the disappointment of Tuesday's FA Cup exit behind him with victory over Millwall in Orient's next League game.
The O's have a blank weekend following their midweek heartbreak, but Daniels can't wait for that Millwall clash to come around on December 4.
"It's a local derby and all the lads are looking forward to it," he said. "Today was our first day back training after the Bristol Rovers game and everyone looked sharp.
"It will be a little strange not playing tomorrow, but we're looking ahead to Tuesday now and the need to get three points.
"The League is our bread and butter, and although it would have been nice to have a cup run, we can concentrate on the league for the rest of the season now."
Despite Tuesday's penalty shootout defeat, on-loan Daniels felt Orient could take a lot of heart from the game.
He continued: "It was heartbreaking to lose having been down to nine men and taken the game all the way to penalties.
"The lads did really well and it was a superb effort. It took a lot out of us and we've had a couple of days off, but you couldn't fault our commitment out there.
"I think the fact they needed penalties to beat us, even though we had two men sent off, shows we are a good side and we can take so many positives from it.
"Penalties aren't the nicest way to settle the game, but these things happen in football and it was just unfortunate that it wasn't our day.
"Being the first taker wasn't the easiest position to be in, but somebody has to do it and luckily for me, it went in. We were disappointed to lose, but we have to move on and look to the Millwall game."
21-year-old Daniels has made the left back berth his own in recent months and he is making the most of his loan in E10.
He added: "Aiden was there at the start of the season and doing well. I had to wait for my chance, and luckily, I've taken it since then.
"I think I've been playing quite well and it's been great so far this season. I'm really enjoying it here at Orient and hopefully we can make this season a successful one."
