Leyton Orient 3 - 1 Crystal Palace
Pontin's Holidays Combination Central Division

ORIENT'S reserves eased to a well-deserved 3-1 victory at Crystal Palace's training ground on Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles established an early lead through Victor Moses, but Orient responded well and took the points courtesy of goals from Sean Thornton, Andy Barcham and Wayne Corden.

Orient created the first chance of the afternoon when Loick Pires headed Corden's 12th minute free kick towards goal. Palace goalkeeper Craig Ross got back to tip the ball over the bar.

Six minutes later, Palace took the lead when Thornton was caught in possession, allowing Moses to take over, cut in from the left flank and lash a superb right footed shot in off the post from 25 yards.

Orient were level within 11 minutes though, Thornton's drive beating Ross with the help of a deflection after Corden played a clever free kick to him.

The O's then began to take control and they were rewarded with a second goal on 41. Corden's twisting run was only half halted on the edge of the box, and the ball broke for Barcham to smash home with his left foot.

Corden became more and more influential as the game wore on, and he came close to increasing the lead on 56 when he turned inside his marker before sending a chipped effort goalwards which Ross touched over.

The O's winger finally got the goal he deserved four minutes before the end when he took down Charlie Daniels' cross at the far post and volleyed forcefully home.

It set the seal on a good win for the O's - the sixth of their Combination campaign.
