Smith's Delight At Reserve Win

Posted on: Wed 27 Feb 2008

ORIENT'S assistant manager Dean Smith was delighted with the performance of his reserve side in their 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Tuesday afternoon.

Sean Thornton, Andy Barcham and Wayne Corden were all on target for a strong O's second string as they recorded their sixth Combination victory of the season.

Smith said: "It was a very good performance and an excellent result.

"We had a strong team out, but Crystal Palace also had a number of professionals in their team, so we were pleased to get the win.

"I thought everyone played well and it was good to see Alton Thelwell play 75 minutes after his recent injury."
