GLENN MORRIS is determined to make Orient's number one jersey his own after signing a new two-year contract on Friday.
The 24-year-old stopper has had to wait patiently for his chance between the sticks, but having taken over from Stuart Nelson towards the end of last term, he wants to make the most of his opportunity.
He said: "It's nice to get my future sorted out, and now I can relax, enjoy the rest of the summer and get ready for next season.
"I definitely want to make the number one position my own now. I held that role a couple of years ago and it didn't quite happen for me, so now I'm determined to take this opportunity with both hands.
"I've had to be patient over the last three seasons, and I think I've shown loyalty to the club by staying here over that period.
"I'm delighted to have been given the chance to show what I can do by the manager, and hopefully I can go on to have a good season."
Morris is not only excited at the prospect of first team football, but also at Orient's chances of promotion.
"We want to push on next season," he continued. "If we can improve in the same way we did last year I'm sure we can finish a lot higher in the table.
"The players already here have proven their quality, and I'm sure with the players who will come in this season, we'll have the squad to go for promotion.
"It is strange knowing that I'm the longest-serving player here at only 24, but I'm happy at Leyton Orient and hopefully I can be here for a few more years to come."
