Tam's Ready For First Run Out

Posted on: Wed 30 Jul 2008

ORIENT defender Tamika Mkandawire is due to make his first pre-season friendly appearance in tonight's game against Tottenham Hotspur following his absence with a groin injury.

The 25-year-old defender underwent surgery on a hernia at the end of last season and was still troubled by the problem when the O's returned to pre-season friendly.

But he was now stepped up his training programme and is available for selection for Martin Ling's side tonight.

However, the O's boss will be without Sean Thornton, who is still missing with a groin injury.

Bradley Gray is also out as he is suffering with a virus, while goalkeeper Jamie Jones misses out due to a hip problem.

Alton Thelwell completes the quartet of absentees for tonight, as the defender is rested as a precaution following his comeback from a knee injury.
