Dawkins - I'm Eager To Get Out There And Play
SIMON DAWKINS is raring to go after overcoming the ankle injury that kept him out of Orient's first two games of the season.
The on-loan Spurs striker has been on the sidelines since suffering the injury in a friendly against his parent club, but having returned to training on Thursday, he is keen to show the O's fans what he can do.
He said: "It was good to be back training today. I still felt the ankle a little bit, but that's to be expected on the first day back - it went well and I'm looking forward to Saturday now.
"All I want to do is play, so I'm eager to get out there having watched the guys train and play. I've done my rehab now and I feel good."
With the O's suffering their first defeat of the campaign to Ipswich on Tuesday, Dawkins is looking forward to helping them bounce back at London Road.
He continued: "The Ipswich game is in the past now. We won't dwell on that and we're looking forward to Saturday having got three points in our first league game.
"I'm available for selection now so of course I hope I get picked in the team for Saturday.
"I'm here for six months, so I want to get as many games under my belt as I can and hopefully bang in some goals.
"I'm 20 years old now and I'm looking forward to gaining experience at first team level. I'm ready for the challenge."
