SIMON DAWKINS is set to return to the Orient squad for Friday night's trip to Southend United.

The 20-year-old striker, on a six-month loan from Tottenham Hotspur, has been absent for the last three weeks with an ankle injury.

He suffered the injury in Orient's Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over the Shrimpers on September 2 and will be ready to face to same opposition again this Friday after returning to full training this week.

Fellow loan striker Jack Jeffery will not make the trip to Essex however, after suffering a knee injury in training on Monday.

Danny Granville (hernia) and Tamika Mkandawire (groin) are both making good progress with their injuries, with Mkandawire joining in with light training this week.
