Thornton Returns To O's

Posted on: Tue 14 Oct 2008

SEAN THORNTON has returned to Brisbane Road following the end of his month-long loan spell at Shrewsbury Town.

The former Sunderland and Doncaster midfielder linked up with the League Two side in September after slipping down the pecking order in E10, and he played six times for Paul Simpson's team.

The Shrews won two of those matches by 7-0 scorelines and he will now try to force his way back into manager Martin Ling's thinking.

Ling said: "Sean is back with us as from today, although he couldn't train this morning due to a slight groin injury.

"He did OK at Shrewsbury and will come back into contention if he's needed to play."
