THE RESERVES twice came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Stevenage Borough at Brisbane Road on Wednesday.
The O's second string had to recover from goals by Stevenage's Tommy Black and Calum Willock, but they responded well and won their point with strikes from Ryan Jarvis and Paul Terry.
Stevenage started well and established a 14th minute lead when Lee Boylan crossed from the right, finding Black in space for a measured volley at the far post.
Orient looked to hit back immediately and Terry crossed for Loick Pires, who nodded over the bar.
Boylan fired wide on 20, but Orient were level within three minutes when Simon Dawkins fed Ryan Jarvis to finish emphatically past former O's stopper Ashley Bayes.
Bayes was one of three ex-Orient players on show for Stevenage, with Daryl McMahon and John Martin also starting, but the O's were starting to take control and Jarvis dragged a shot wide of the mark on the half hour.
Solomon Shields sliced wide after running forcefully towards goal on the stroke of half time as the O's looked to stamp their authority on the game.
Stevenage came out of the blocks the quicker after the break though, and they took the lead for the second time on 50 when Willock rounded Jamie Jones and stroked into the net.
The same player drilled into the side netting three minutes later, but Stevenage were made to regret not building on their lead as Orient stepped up their game in looking for an equaliser.
Bayes denied Dawkins from close range with 63 minutes on the clock, while 11 minutes later Terry found a way past the away stopper when Matt Hall won the ball and his midfield partner shot into the far corner from 25 yards.
Harry Baker drew a save from Bayes as the clock ticked down, but both sides had to be content with a point.
