ADAM BOYD was full of praise for the back four after Orient held on for a 1-0 win at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.
Striker Boyd scored the only goal of the game with just 65 seconds on the clock, but the fact that Huddersfield didn't find a way through was down to the visitors' superb defensive work.
The Terriers applied plenty of pressure but Orient held out and Boyd was delighted with the three-point haul.
"It was a massive defensive effort," he said. "The centre halves, full backs and Cat [Glenn Morris] were excellent and I felt we defended from the front pretty well.
"We didn't plan to be hanging on as much as we did, but it worked out well for us in the end.
"It was pretty similar to last year's game at Huddersfield. I scored early that day and we hung on for 1-0 under a lot of pressure, so credit to the lads for being able to do that again."
Boyd's goal came from Orient's first attack of the game and he was pleased to score his ninth of the season.
"We didn't even have time to catch our breath from the start before the goal came. The chance was there for me and luckily I put it away and that proved to be enough.
"I ran on to it in the box and it seemed to take a little while to drop but I was glad to stick it away.
"It's three goals in five games now and that's good form and hopefully I can keep it going.
"If I can keep on scoring, with the defence playing as well as they are, that'll help us to keep winning games."
