SECOND year scholar Matthew Hall scored the only goal of the game as Orient's reserves won 1-0 at Watford on Monday night.

Hall volleyed home the winner in the second half to make it four games unbeaten for the reserves and lift them off the foot of the table.

Watford started strongly and were the better side before the break.

Marvin Sordell flashed a shot wide of the visitors' goal, while Lee Hodson fired in an effort that O's stopper Jack Giddens did well to save.

Orient went close when Loick Pires nodded Hall's corner over the top, but Watford would have been disappointed to go in at the break level.

The O's came out stronger in the second half though, striking the decisive blow with 64 minutes on the clock.

Andrew Cave-Brown crossed deep from the right and Ryan Jarvis headed the ball back across goal for Hall to crash home a volley.

Watford continued to create chances in the strong wind at Boreham Wood, but Giddens saved when Sordell got clear one-on-one for their best chance to equalise.

Adam Boyd also completed 90 minutes on his comeback from an ankle injury to complete a successful night for Orient's second string.

Orient: Jack Giddens; Andrew Cave-Brown, Luke Ashworth, Brian Saah, Danny Granville; Harry Baker, JJ Melligan, Matthew Hall (Harry Beautyman 83), Loick Pires; Adam Boyd, Ryan Jarvis
