JAKE ARGENT'S second half goal was enough to give Orient's reserves their third consecutive victory when they took on Colchester United on Wednesday.

The O's second year scholar - one of five trainees in the starting line-up - produced a measured finish to seperate the sides and keep the O's second string in the title hunt.

Chances were few and far between in a quiet first half, although Harry Baker did force a comfortable stop from home keeper Andrew Dickey.

At the other end, Louis O'Sullivan failed to hit the target, while Russell Malton shot over just before the interval.

Colchester made most of the early second half running and Malton went close from a 47th minute corner.

But Orient were the first to strike, Argent placed his left-footed effort beyond Dickey after being played through by Louis Crowther's pass.

Dickey twice denied Argent as the O's searched for more, while Perry Sansford fired wide late on for the U's.

There was no way past O's stopper Glenn Morris for the home side as Argent's goal proved to be the clincher.
