ORIENT'S reserves extended their unbeaten run to six games with a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday afternoon.
Adrian Patulea scored the only goal of the game, pouncing on a rebound after Loick Pires' penalty had been saved to give the O's the points.
There were run outs for the likes of James Scowcroft, Jonathan Téhoué and Jimmy Smith and O's assistant manager Kevin Nugent was delighted with the afternoon's work.
"It was a good win for us," he said. "A lot of the lads hadn't had much football recently, so it was an excellent workout for them and they all showed a tremendous attitude.
"We tried a different system, playing a diamond in midfield until we made the substitutions in the second half and reverted back to 4-4-2 and we did well."
Patulea scored the decisive goal inside the first half hour when a Rangers defender was adjudged to have handled inside the box.
Pires was denied his seventh Combination goal of the season by R's keeper Elvijs Putnins, but Patulea was on hand to gobble up the rebound.
QPR's Antonio German missed a good headed chance late on, but Orient had done enough to secure victory, despite playing out the last five minutes with 10 men when, with all their substitutes used, Luke Ashworth went off after suffering a cut to his head.
