McGleish - It's Always Nice To Score Against Them
SCOTT McGLEISH took his goal tally to 11 for the season with his equaliser against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday - and it was a strike he enjoyed with particular relish.
The veteran striker, who turns 36 on Wednesday, is always the subject of abuse from the Seagulls fans and he took great delight in silencing them with his 53rd minute leveller.
He celebrated by turning his shirt back-to-front and pointing out his name to the travelling support - a gesture that brought him a booking - but he didn't mind one bit as he edged ever closer to his 200th career League goal.
"It's always nice to get one against Brighton because they do give me a lot of stick throughout the game," he said.
"But it's just nice to get to 11 really, after having one in the week against Bristol Rovers not credited to me.
"We were happy to take a point in the end. We were a bit disappointed with the way the goal went in against us, but we did well to come back.
"We tried to get at them and it was an end-to-end game both ways."
McGleish had praise for Orient's spirit in coming back from a goal down to claim a point and he says that character is a major factor in their five-game unbeaten run.
"We're unbeaten in five games now and the boys want to continue that," he added.
"You could see in the Carlisle game and again here against Brighton that we've got a lot of spirit about us and we're willing to dig into the trenches and make sure we come out with something."
