BEN CHORLEY may only have left Tranmere for the O's last summer, but Saturday's game between the clubs will be the fourth time he has come up against his former employers already.

Orient were drawn against the Merseysiders in the FA Cup earlier this season, with Tranmere prevailing after a replay, while Orient triumphed in the Brisbane Road League meeting, and Chorley is hoping this weekend's game at Prenton Park will follow the pattern of that latter match.

He said: "It's one you look forward to, but it's becoming a regular thing now, as this will be the fourth time we've played them this season!

"It's a tough place to go to, more so now that Les Parry has got them playing well, so we're going to have to go there and compete."

Orient have taken positive results against promotion-chasing Leeds United and Charlton Athletic in recent weeks and while Tranmere are involved in a fight of a different type at the other end of the table, centre back Chorley is expecting this battle to be just as tough.

"You should approach every game in the same way," he continued. "The gaffer's had us working hard all week - we did some running on Tuesday and we're keeping our fitness up.

"We'll go up there exactly the same as Charlton and exactly the same as Leeds. It's a hard place to go - if they're playing well the crowd get behind them, but if we can nullify them and put our game across, then I think we can come out on top."

Orient approach this Saturday's game on the back of a six-match unbeaten run, and during that sequence Geraint Williams' men have only conceded four goals.

Chorley is delighted with their defensive form at the moment and he would love another clean sheet at Prenton Park.

He added: "As a team we're defending better right now. Chambo is helping us a lot, sweeping up the midfield and getting a lot of second balls.

"We've just to keep doing what we're doing. We're happy with the way it's going at the moment, but we've got to keep working hard because there's nothing better than getting clean sheets."
