ORIENT striker Scott McGleish has been nominated for the PFA Fans' Player of the Month for League One in February.

The veteran frontman, who turned 36 this month, has been in excellent form since the turn of the year, scoring three goals from six appearances, including the equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Brighton in February.

McGleish faces stiff competition for the prize in the shape of Southampton striker Rickie Lambert, Leeds United duo Luciano Becchio and Casper Ankergren, and Norwich hitman Chris Martin.

Every month of the football season, four fans who have voted for the divisional winners get the chance to present the PFA Fans' Player of the Month Award to their football hero on the pitch at a home game. One of the yearly fan winners will be selected at random to win the overall prize of attending the prestigious PFA Player of the Year Awards Dinner.

The awards are endorsed by the players and supported by the Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two clubs and The Fans Supporters Federation. The PFA's commitment to this award confirms the organisation's belief that fans, as well as players, are the lifeblood of the game.
