SEAN THORNTON said Orient were full value for their victory over Walsall after his second half double gave the Londoners their first win in seven attempts.
The O's have struggled to create chances in recent weeks, but they were much more positive against the Saddlers and Irishman Thornton was on hand to deliever the knockout blows.
He was pleased with the team's display and thought the final scoreline was a fair one.
"It was a great result and a good team performance too," he said. "I think we defended really well and created a lot of chances at the other end.
"We could have come in at half time 2-0 up, but we kept at it and it paid off in the end.
"I think you could see that the first goal gave a confidence boost to the team and then we popped the ball around a bit better.
"After Tuesday night the gaffer had a good word with us and it got the best out of us on Saturday."
Thornton has been in and out of the side in recent weeks, but his second half brace - taking his goal tally for the season to five - was the perfect way to state his intention to hold down his place in the centre of Orient's midfield.
He added: "I had no problem with the manager's decision to leave me out on Tuesday. My form dipped a little bit and I wasn't producing the standards I want to week in, week out.
"He took me out of the team and that's how you probably get the best out of players.
"Nobody likes being out of the team and the best way to respond is with a good performance when you get back in.
"If you can get a couple of goals too then it's an added bonus and I'm pleased overall."
