Joe Durston, organiser of the O's supporters' boat to Brentford on Saturday March 27, writes...
I have had a call literally 10 minutes ago from the Boat Compnay. There is an event on Saturday March 27 called 'Head of the River' (a schools' boating event) which takes place to the west of Putney Bridge. With this in mind, part of The Thames is closed during the day.
With the above in consideration, the boat will now depart at 9.30 from Cutty Sark and will get to Kew at around 12, so one can take in the pubs, Kew Gardens and other local attractions.
This is totally and utterly beyond control and I have let people know as soon as I have found out. However, this is as much of a mare for me as it is for those booked.
I have spoken to the entertainers involved to see if they can still perform and they will let me know if they can.
The return time is unaffected.
Anyone who has booked to go on the boat and has any queries should contact Joe by email.
