Chambers - It's A Chance To Do Ourselves A Favour

Posted on: Fri 02 Apr 2010

ORIENT midfielder Adam Chambers is targeting Saturday's game against Hartlepool United as a chance for his side to give themselves a much needed shot in the arm,

The O's go into the meeting with Hartlepool two points above their visitors and 29-year-old former West Brom man Chambers is desperate to make that five.

He said: "Of the games we have left, there are a number against teams down there fighting with us. Saturday is one of them and it's a chance for us to do ourselves a massive favour and pull away from the relegation zone.

"We have to go into Saturday's match positively and look to win it. Up until the Huddersfield game we were on a good run at home, and we need to get that run going again against Hartlepool.

"It's all about getting that win under our belts and then trying to turn that into a run of good form."

The O's have been in a similar position and seen off the threat of relegation twice in the last three years and Chambers believes that experience could prove crucial.

He added: "I suppose the fact we have been in a similar kind of situation before and got through it could be a help. A lot of the lads will have played under that kind of pressure and it's an experience we can draw upon.

"Right now our focus is on keeping our place in the division and to do that we have to put a lot of hard work in, be positive and just go out and try to win every game we play."

This interview will appear in full in Saturday's edition of E10 - our official matchday magazine. Priced just £3 and chock-full of reading, it really is a must for all O's fans!
