ORIENT will leave a decision on Charlie Daniels' fitness until the very last minute ahead of Saturday's crucial battle with Exeter City.
The O's left back, 23, suffered a calf injury in Monday's 2-1 defeat to Southampton and was substituted with 25 minutes to go.
Manager Russell Slade rates Daniels' chances of making the St James' Park game as 50-50, but he will certainly be without Jonathan Téhoué, who suffered damage to his hamstring at St Mary's.
Téhoué is likely to miss the remaining six games of Orient's season, while Sean Thornton is also out of Saturday's match as he serves the second game of his two-match ban for accumulating 10 yellow cards.
However, there is better news in the form of Stephen Purches' return to fitness. The O's skipper has been back in training this week and will be available for selection at Exeter.
O's boss Slade said: "The performance at Southampton was encouraging, but the negatives were that there were a couple of injuries.
"If I'm honest, Charlie remains 50-50. We'll have to see with him but we will leave it until the last minute. Hopefully he will come through."
