CHARLIE DANIELS believes Tuesday's win over Norwich City sends out a clear message to the O's relegation rivals - that the Londoners are desperate to keep their place in League One.
Orient ripped up the form book to defeat the table-topping Canaries and Daniels says the victory comes as evidence of the O's renewed confidence under new boss Russell Slade.
"I think it shows that our self belief is back," he said. "The manager has put it in to us that we can stay up and I think the players have responded well.
"We believe that we can do that and we showed in our performance on Tuesday that we are good enough to stay up.
"It's a massive boost for us. It shows the rest of the teams that we can play and that we want to keep our place in this division."
Orient have now achieved positive results against all of the division's top four at Brisbane Road and left back Daniels believes the basis for victory over Norwich was laid in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Exeter City.
He continued: "When you play teams at the top of the table you shouldn't have any fear because you're not expected to win.
"But we think that we can and that came across in how we played. We deserved the three points.
"It's always a benefit keeping a clean sheet for the back four and Jonesy, so achieving that at Exeter gave us the confidence to go on and perform well against Norwich."
Daniels whipped over the superb free kick that led to Sean Thornton's match-clinching second and the former Spurs man was delighted to play his part.
He added: "The second goal was nice. I think I've been putting a few good balls in but we haven't been capitalising on them.
"But on Tuesday Sean made a good run and it was a great header from him."
