ORIENT'S reserves fell to a crushing 5-1 defeat at Aldershot Town on Tuesday afternoon.
The Shots inflicted most of the damage before the break, taking advantage of Jordan Parkes' red card to race into a 4-0 advantage by half time.
Orient were much more competitive in the second period and scored through trialist Adam McGurk, but Aldershot restored their four-goal cushion near the end to wrap up a comprehensive victory.
Orient, fielding an experimental side which included six trialists and just two O's professionals, made a sluggish start and found themselves 2-0 down with just five minutes on the clock.
Watford defender Parkes, on trial with the O's, was then dismissed, and Aldershot made it a double blow by scoring their third from the free kick.
It got worse before the break as the hosts added a fourth, but Orient did manage to stem the tide and Aston Villa forward McGurk got on the scoresheet.
But Aldershot had the last word and Orient will hope to gain revenge in the reverse fixture this Thursday.
