Mkandawire Joins Millwall
TAMIKA MKANDAWIRE has agreed to sign for npower Football League Championship new boys Millwall after turning down the offer of a new contract with the O's.
The 27-year-old centre back spent three years in E10 after arriving on a free transfer from Hereford United and now makes the step up to the second tier with the Lions.
He made 128 appearances for the club, scoring 15 times, and he took the captain's armband on a number of occasions when regular skipper Stephen Purches was unavailable.
Seven of those 15 strikes came last season - a campaign that also saw him pick up the Players' Player of the Year award.
He joins Millwall on a two-year contract and will line-up alongside another former O in Gary Alexander as the south Londoners adjust to life in the second tier.
