Téhoué - I'll Keep On Working

Posted on: Sat 24 Jul 2010

JONATHAN TÉHOUÉ is determined to show the O's his best form after making his comeback from injury in Thursday night's 4-0 win over Truro City.

The French striker was out of action for the best part of four months after suffering a torn hamstring in early April, so was delighted to make his pre-season bow earlier this week.

Téhoué got 20 minutes of action as Orient booked their place in the Joma South West Challenge Cup semi-finals and now he is itching for more game time.

"I'm really happy to have come back against Truro," he said. "It's been a long time, nearly four months, so I'm glad to be back out on the pitch with the lads.

"It was unfortunate that I got injured and missed the end of last season, but I've kept working and now I'll have the opportunity to show the new manager what I'm able to do.

"I'll just keep on putting that work in, doing my best and hopefully I will get my chance."

Orient are back in action when they take on Blackpool in the competition's last four on Saturday and Téhoué would like to add to his Truro run out against the Premier League side.

He continued: "It's good news for me that I can train with the team before the season starts. Maybe I'll be able to play a little bit more in the next few games, get my fitness up and then we'll see from there.

"We have a match on Saturday and I hope I'm going to play a little bit more. I hope to get maybe 45 minutes on the pitch to help with my match fitness and to get my sharpness back."

Téhoué has enjoyed the experience of being away on tour with the O's and hopes it could act as a springboard to a successful campaign.

He added: "It's good that we've had the chance to go away on tour. There are lots of new players here, so we can get to know each other here and bond as a team.

"I'm going to keep my goals to myself, but what I will say is that I hope to score a lot of goals this season because last year was really frustrating."
