THE countdown to Saturday's game against Dagenham & Redbridge starts here.
Before every fixture, leytonorient.com will go down memory lane to highlight some classic encounters from the past, with one particular cup clash standing out.
Russell Slade's men make the short trip to Dagenham this Saturday, and we begin the countdown with the first ever meeting between the clubs.
Dagenham & Redbridge 4 - 5 Leyton Orient, November 14 1992
These clubs first locked horns in the 1992/93 season when the FA Cup brought them together for a first round tie.
Orient were Division Two promotion contenders, while Dagenham & Redbridge, only formed that year after a merger of Dagenham and Redbridge Forest, were in the Conference.
However, there was little to choose between the teams as the goals rained in at Victoria Road.
5,300 fans packed into the Daggers' home ground for this match and they were treated to a real goal fest.
A shock looked on the cards, but Orient scored through Terry Howard, Adrian Whitbread, Andy Jones and Mark Cooper (twice) to hold off the Daggers' challenge.
However, Orient's Cup campaign was to come to an end at the next stage, as fellow Division Two side Reading eased to a 3-0 victory.
Other meetings
Although this Saturday's game will be the first ever League meeting between the clubs, they have gone head-to-head in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on three occasions - with the Daggers winning all three ties - and once more in the FA Cup, with Orient holding the upper hand.
The first saw the Daggers come from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in Paul Brush's first game as O's boss in the 2001/02 season.
Two years later they were at it again, romping to a 4-1 victory over the O's at the first round stage.
Then, having won promotion to League 2, they beat Martin Ling's side 1-0 at Brisbane Road in the 2007/08 campaign.
But Orient hold a perfect two from two record over the Daggers in the FA Cup, with their most recent victory coming in the 2004/05 season, when Matt Lockwood, David Hunt and Wayne Carlisle scored to clinch a 3-1 victory.
