AS PART of the Football League's dedicated week for official charity partner Help the Hospices, the O's will be hosting a charity quiz for Hackney-based St Joseph's Hospice & Woodford Green's Haven House Children's Hospice on Thursday March 1.
Fans, players and managers from The Football League's 72 clubs will show their support for hospice care during the week of action.
Leyton Orient is twinned with St Joseph's and Haven House hospices as part of The Football League's official charity partnership with Help the Hospices, the UK charity for hospice care. .
The quiz, which is already fully booked, will feature rounds from general knowledge and sport, to entertainment, current affairs and music and there will be guest appearances from the first team playing and management staff.
Howard Gould, community liaison officer at Leyton Orient, said: "Supporting St Joseph's Hospice and helping them raise their profile amongst our fans is something we are not only proud but also delighted to do.
"Half of our fans are likely to know someone who has been cared for by a hospice. Hospice care is free for patients and families, but it's not free to provide. Please help us to make a difference to seriously ill people and their families by getting involved during Help the Hospices Football Week."
Since football fans chose Help the Hospices to be The Football League's Official Charity Partner for the 2011/12 season, millions of supporters across The Football League's 72 clubs have shared one goal - to champion the hospice cause and help people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses to live well.
Leyton Orient's home match against Sheffield Wednesday on March 24 will be a dedicated St Joseph's charity day. Collections will be made for the hospice and young footballers from across the East End will be competing in an inter school penalty shoot out.
