Youth Team Stung By Bees
ORIENT'S youth team lost for the second successive week as they went down 2-0 at Brentford on Saturday.
Without a host of players through injury and first team commitments, coach Alex Inglethorpe was forced to draft in two under-16s and a trialist for the trip to west London.
And a goal in each half proved enough to give the Bees the points, as Orient failed to create many chances, despite controlling the game for large parts.
"We had a very young side out and we passed the ball as well as we have done all season, Inglethorpe said.
"We conceded at the end of the first half against the run of play and after the break their physical presence told to be honest.
"But I was very pleased with the lads who came in, it was just a shame we didn't create much going forward.
"With Scott Wallis, Joe O'Cearuill and Efe Echanomi all injured we were down to the bare bones, so we'll be stronger when they all return.
"And of course Derek Duncan and Brian Saah were involved with the first team who I obviously don't mind losing players to.
"I was pleased to see Derek get a run-out for the first team at Woking, and also for Brian to score his first goal for the senior side that night and it shows that we're doing things the right way to get players in to the manager's thoughts."
