Williams Celebrates First Anniversary
GERAINT WILLIAMS celebrated the first anniversary of his appointment as O's boss by extending the club's unbeaten run to five games with Saturday's 1-1 draw against Brighton.
The 48-year-old Welshman took over the managerial reins in E10 on February 5 2009, just over two weeks after previous boss Martin Ling had left the role by mutual consent.
At the time of his appointment, Orient were in the League One relegation zone, but he led a recovery that saw them finish 14th, well clear of danger.
He has now been in charge of 52 matches - 46 of them in the League - with his record reading W 20 D 13 L 19.
The 46-game League record, which had it fallen over the course of one season, would have seen the O's take 65 points (P 46 W 18 D 11 L 17) - a tally that earned tenth place in League One last term.
Scott McGleish is the club's leading goalscorer over that period, with 17 goals to his name, while Charlie Daniels has made the most appearances under Williams, playing in 49 of those 52 games.
