22-year-old goalkeeper Jamie Jones wasted little time in establishing himself as the club's number one after making the move from Everton in summer of 2008. Jones may have been a young and inexperienced stopper, but within six months of signing for the club he had dislodged Glenn Morris between the posts, and has not looked back since. He became an instant hero for the O's, saving an injury time penalty at Milton Keynes Dons in just his second ever Football League game, securing a 2-1 win and ending a run of 10 games without a victory. The Liverpool-born keeper came through the ranks at Premier League Everton and signed his first pro contract with the Merseysiders in 2007. He was unable to make the breakthrough at Goodison Park, but has made the most of his opportunity since moving south in 2008 claimed the O's Young Player of the Year award in his first two seasons with the club. Jamie committed his long-term future to the club in the summer of 2011, signing a new three-year deal at Brisbane Road.
