Adam was rewarded for an outstanding 2007/08 campaign by winning the club's Player of the Year award.
He delighted manager Martin Ling by signing a new two-and-a-half year deal in February 2007 after becoming an integral part of the O's team during the 2006/07 season.
He had originally joined the club on a trial basis during the summer of 2006, and after proving his fitness, he was offered a year-long deal - which has since been extended.
The 28-year-old midfielder missed all the previous campaign with injury after being released by Kidderminster Harriers, but O's boss Martin Ling saw enough during his trial to offer him terms.
Chambers, who can either play in the centre or on the right hand side of midfield, began his career with West Bromwich Albion, where he made over 60 appearances, many of which came in the Premiership.
But the first of his injury problems began near the end of his spell at the Hawthorns, and after falling away from Gary Megson's first team plans, he opted for a February 2004 loan move to Sheffield Wednesday.
Adam played twelve times for the Hillsborough club before returning to West Brom, eventually leaving for a brief spell at Kidderminster the following March.
