LEFT-WINGER Loick Pires made his senior debut as a substitute against Doncaster Rovers at the back end of the 2007/08 season and won his first professional contract shortly afterwards.
Pires joined the club for the start of his scholarship at the age of 16 having played men's football the previous year, and he spent his first 12 months with the club as a striker.
Following Kevin Nugent's arrival as Youth Team Manager two summers ago, Pires was converted to a winger and he soon made an impact at youth and reserve levels.
He edged his way into first team contention at the close of that campaign and he built on that in 2008/09, making seven first team appearances.
A tall, quick and strong player, Loick's physical attributes are sure to help him make the transition to senior football.
