Romanian striker Adrian put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract with the O's during the summer of 2009. The 25-year-old forward rejected the offer of new terms at former club Lincoln City in favour of a move to Brisbane Road and he scored with his first touch for his new club in a Carling Cup tie at Colchester United. Patulea arrived in English football with the Imps last year and after impressing in a pre-season trial, Sincil Bank chief Peter Jackson paid an undisclosed fee to take the striker from the Petrolul Ploiesti club in his homeland. He scored 11 goals from 17 starts and 14 substitute appearances during his debut season in League 2 and added to that with three goals last year. Targoviste-born Patulea began his career with Rapid Bucharest before moving on to Astra Ploiesti. Adrian Patulea |
