French-Tunisian defender Syam joined Orient on a contract until the end of the season in January 2012.
Ben Youssef, 22, was with Tunis-based club Espérance until last summer, winning the domestic league title in his two seasons with the club.
Espérance also won the CAF African Champions League last term, which earned them a place in the FIFA Club World Cup, won by Barcelona last month.
Born in Marseille, Ben Youssef started his career with SC Bastia in France prior to moving on to Espérance in 2009.
