AT LAST Monday's Meet The Chairman evening at the Supporters Club over 100 O's fans saw Chairman Barry Hearn being presented with a cheque for £40,000 by Supporters Club chairman and O's director David Dodd.
The cheque represented the Supporters Club's donation to the O's for the 2007/08 season and is the second instalment of the club's project of helping to finance the fit-out of the West Stand dressing room suite.
David Dodd in presenting the cheque commented that the donation followed on from the previous donation, also for £40,000, and was the latest in a long sequence of financial donations to the O's spanning some 30 years since the formation of the present day Supporters Club back in 1978.
He thanked members for their support in helping to make these donations possible and complimented the Supporters Club committee members for their continued voluntary efforts for the club.
Barry Hearn thanked the Supporters Club for it's help and support over the years. It was, he added, what being involved with Leyton Orient was all about with everyone pulling together for the long term benefit of the O's.
