O's Cup Hopes Hang By A Thread

Oxford United 2 - 1 Leyton Orient
Puma Youth Alliance Cup Group 2

BRADLEY GRAY'S fourth goal of the season looked set to earn Orient a priceless Youth Alliance Cup point - but Oxford grabbed a late winning strike to leave Orient's hopes in this competition hanging by a thread.

The O's Achilles heel of conceding last-gasp goals resurfaced and their winless run continues.

Oxford took the lead in an evenly balanced first half when Declan Benjamin slid the ball home.

Gray converted with a header from a free kick after the break to give Orient a good platform to claim all three points.

But despite many chances coming their way, Kevin Nugent's side could not make use of them and they were punished at the death.

Subs: Henry Atu, Adam Marsh, Harry Beautyman
