Leyton Orient 0 - 4 Queens Park Rangers
Puma Youth Alliance South East Conference
ORIENT'S youth team fell victim to a second half blitz from Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
The O's dealt well with the league leaders in the opening period and came in at the break level.
But QPR moved clear with four second half goals and made the short journey home as convincing winners.
Kevin Nugent and his scholars were expecting a tough game against the west Londoners, but they coped well with them in the opening period and shaded the contest.
But after conceding the opening on the break after half time, their confidence drained and Rangers added three more goals in a 25 minute spell.
The result leaves Orient without a win in two months, but Nugent says his team will learn from the experience.
"The scoreline wasn't really a fair reflection of the game," he said. "We competed well in the first half, but maybe we went a little gung-ho and paid for it.
"The young players will learn from the ups and downs of games like these and hopefully they will turn similar situations into positive results in the future."
