Leyton Orient U18 1 - 2 Northampton Town U18
Puma Youth Alliance Cup Group Two

ORIENT'S youth team are still looking for their first Puma Youth Alliance Cup points after falling to a 2-1 defeat to Northampton Town on Saturday.

Adam Marsh scored his third goal of the season, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Cobblers from taking the points back up the M1.

Youth team manager Kevin Nugent said: "It was a difficult game on a difficult pitch against a very strong Northampton team.

"We're falling a little short of the standards we set ourselves at the minute and errors are costing us dear.

"We're not quite there on the physical side of the game right now, but we have to put the work in on the training ground and keep our confidence, and the improvement will come."

Northampton took the lead in the opening period, before Orient struck back from a set piece through striker Marsh.

But Orient couldn't build on their leveller and Northampton's Jon Marzetti - whose own goal gave the O's reserve side a victory over Northampton earlier this season - sealed the win with the Cobblers' second.
