Young O's Roar Past Lions
Leyton Orient 2 - 1 Millwall
Puma Youth Alliance South East Conference
ADAM MARSH and Harry Baker were on target as Orient's youth team got their league campaign back on track with a 2-1 victory over Millwall on Saturday.
The young O's had lost their previous three Puma Youth Alliance fixtures, but they built on their midweek FA Youth Cup victory with a dogged display against the Lions.
Youth team manager Kevin Nugent said: "It was a difficult game against a good side played in atrocious conditions.
"But we showed great character and determination to fight our way to victory and it was an excellent result."
The O's moved into the lead when Marsh ran on to a flick on to finish past the visiting goalkeeper.
Millwall levelled, but Orient kept plugging away and were rewarded with the winner when Baker drifted in from the flank to send in a shot that took a slight deflection on its way in.
Orient: Jack Giddens; Brandon Martin, Pat O'Donnell, Elliott Babbs, Ryan Nelson; Harry Baker, Matt Hall, Daryl Sydes (Harry Beautyman 10), Musa Manneh; Adam Bolle, Adam Marsh (Jake Argent 70)
