Leyton Orient 0 - 4 Watford
FA Youth Cup sponsored by E.ON Round Three

TWO quickfire doubles sent Orient's youngsters crashing out of the FA Youth Cup to Watford on Tuesday night.

The Hornets struck at the start - establishing a two-goal lead within seven minutes - and at the end of the Brisbane Road contest to end the young O's cup dreams for another year.

Orient could not have got off to a worse start, falling behind to Marvin Sordell's fourth minute strike when goalkeeper Daniel Bygrave came out of his area in an attempt to cut off Matthew Whicehlow's run.  The Watford man beat Bygrave to the ball and cut back for Whichelow to stroke into the empty net.

Three minutes later it got worse for the home side when Bygrave could only parry William Gibson's fierce effort and Sordell reacted quickly to double Watford's lead.

Mingoia forced a good low save from Bygrave shortly afterwards as Watford continued to press, with strikers Whichelow and Sordell looking particularly impressive.

The O's started to come back into the contest towards the end of the first half, but they were restricted to long range efforts, with Harry Beautyman drawing a save from Jonathan North and Harry Baker firing over.

Kevin Nugent's side looked to up the tempo after the break and started well, but Watford's centre halves Robert Kiernan and Edward Oshodi snuffed out any danger that presented itself and goalkeeper North was well protected.

The hosts were running out of ideas and Watford punished them towards the end, scoring twice to make sure of their progress.

Oshodi was first to net, rising well to head a left wing corner home nine minutes from time, while Whichelow rubbed salt into O's wounds two minutes later when he finished emphatically after breaking clear in the right channel.
