THE YOUTH team resumed their League campaign in style on Saturday by scoring four second half goals to see off the challenge of Aldershot Town on Saturday.

Two goals from Adam Bolle, added to strikes from Patrick O'Donnell and Jake Argent meant the under-18s returned from the Christmas break in the best possible fashion.

Youth team manager Kevin Nugent said: "It was an excellent win and it's good to come back with a good result following a big break.

"We played at the Football Academy in Loughton rather than our usual ground at Ive Farm, but the fact it was so windy made things difficult.

"It was a solid defensive performance and I was delighted to see Patrick O'Donnell score his first ever goal for the club - he had the biggest smile in the world after that went in."

Aldershot started well and had a chance to take the lead when Siao Blackwood headed over from close range.

Adam Mekki and Josh Pearson also missed opportunities for the visitors and the O's made them pay with a strong second half.

Ten minutes after the interval, Bolle got on the scoresheet for the first time to give Nugent's side the advantage.

O's keeper Jack Giddens then had to save a penalty to prevent Ben Hutchings from levelling after Mekki was upended in the box.

Orient made full use of their let off with O'Donnell doubling his - and his side's - tally from a 72nd minute corner.

Argent made it 3-1, beating Shots keeper Matt Peglar to his left with a shot from just outside the area in the 83rd minute.

Deep into stoppage time, Bolle completed the scoring when he took advantage of some confusion in the visitors' defence to head home.

Orient: Jack Giddens; Brandon Martin (Stephen O'Hara), George Artemi, Patrick O'Donnell, Ryan Nelson; Joe Boayke (Jake Argent), Matt Hall (Michael Richardson), Harry Beautyman, Musa Manneh; Adam Bolle, Adam Marsh
